Andhra Style ~ Kobbari Lavusu


Coconut is celebrated as a symbol of prosperity, a blessing from nature and an auspicious part of any ceremony. It is an essential ingredient for cooking too.

Jaggery based sweets are much better for health and when coconut meets jaggery it gives a divine taste.

Its a simple 1:1 ratio laddoo.



Ingredients :


- Grated Fresh Coconut - 2 cups

- Grated Jaggery - 2 cups

- Elaichi / Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp

- Ghee - 2 tsps

Recipe :

1. Take equal quantities of coconut and jaggery. 

*Both grated will make the job easy.


2. Heat a pan and  add jaggery, coconut. Keep mixing on medium flame till the jaggery melts.

*Don't let the coconut burn.


3. The jaggery should melt & blend in well. Then add elaichi powder and ghee. 


4. Keep mixing, when coconut comes very close and the quantity reduces, turn off the heat.


5. In a  plate apply little ghee and spread over.


6. Roll into balls when it is hot, or it will dry and turn hard like barfi.

7. Store in an airtight container or they will go hard.


Tasty and healthy Kobbari Lavusu or Brown Coconut Ladoo is all ready.
